Increased Partnerships with Schools

Schools are the Cornerstone of our Communities

Our schools are the cornerstone of our communities. This fact has been illustrated time and time again, but more so during the pandemic we’ve faced over the past two years.

Our schools provide a support system for feeding our youth, child care that allows people to work, and so much more. Children can’t learn if they’re unfed or feel unsafe, and currently our city government has insufficient collaboration with the schools. This can lead to gaps in services and support for the children’s education and general wellbeing, which is why it is imperative that we increase our partnerships with schools to create the best environment possible for Lexington’s youth.

Safe Spaces for Kids

We need increased collaboration between the city, our school systems, state lawmakers, and nonprofits to create safe spaces for kids to go across Lexington after school that provide educational activities and extend the school day.
